Green by recycling them for free at the Alcoa City Schools "Community-Wide Computer Recycling Event
" on Friday, September 26, 2008
from Noon to 4pm. This event is being held in the lower parking lot of Alcoa High School. The Alcoa City Schools, along with Technology Solutions of Tennessee, will be
collecting computers and their peripherals along with
household electronics like stereos, VCR’s, and cell
phones. Computers and home electronics will be accepted
at NO charge and TV’s will be accepted for a FEE.
This event is for electronics only. No household wastes (chemicals) will be accepted. Please check the Alcoa City Schools website at www.alcoaschools.net or the Technology Solutions website www.tsot.net for

Here is a list of acceptable materials:
ACCEPTABLE ITEMS:
Computers (CPUs), Laptops, Monitors, Printers, Scanners, Networking Hardware, Servers and Server Racks, Copiers, DVD and VCR Players, Projectors, Phone Networking Equipment (PBX and Fiber), Phones (minus handsets), Cell phones, Cabling, TV’s, Hard Drives, Floppy Drives, Memory, Software, CD’s, DVD’s, Data and Magnetic Tapes, Typewriters, All forms of adapters and Game Systems, etc.
UNACCEPTABLE ITEMS: Medical Radiological Equipment: X-ray machines, etc.
Biological Equipment: Any items used in health care for humans or animals, any and all lab equipment.
Kitchen Appliances: Refrigerators, Ovens, Microwaves, Stoves, etc. No small health and beauty items. Headphones, microphones, phone handsets, earplugs, etc. No equipment that has rodent or insect infestations, mold or body fluids.
Recycling Fees:
TVs: 13 in-19 in - $10.00 each / 20 in and above - $20.00 each
All other acceptable items: Free
